Notes on the Swing
The swing is more natural than manufactured.Leading instructors state that their purpose is to put you through the motions and hope that somehow you will get the right feel.
Defining the swing using anatomic connections simplified and understood is the route to the correct feel and exactly how to reproduce it.
Avoid anatomically awkward golf and avoid drills when you do not feel comfortable after a proper set up. If it feels uncomfortable, your body is telling you that retaining and duplicating the maneuver is unlikely to be of consistent value.
My method allows the golfer to develop a swing unencumbered by the problems of age or physical difficulty or body type variation.
The swing center is a defined functional area of the anatomy. Knowing its location, function, and feel awareness leads to the definitive swing thought.
How the swing is engineered on the inside is a better key to analysis than any external description or motion sequence.
You don't need to learn a swing plane, only how your swing relates to a defined anatomic reference plane influenced by momentum.
Kepler, Newton and Halley got it right so use their principles naturally to build the five swing styles with the primary and two secondary anatomical components.
The golf swing is an optical illusion to the golfer and the one viewing it. Don't try to make it look good if there is not an easy feel.
All previously described swing thoughts or golf tips in the golf literature are secondary swing thoughts and are of value only for the accomplished ball striker. These are for making golf shots which the average golfer laking in athletic potential is likely to find beyond his ability.
Clubs not fitted to the individual lead to bad habits and consequently inconsistent performance.
Practice and playing have four levels of difficulty: One is swinging a club to develop feel awareness. Two is striking low resistance practice balls, space permitting. Three is hitting balls at a range. Four is taking your swing out on the course.
Golf is supposed to be a fun game and you're so lucky to be alive and able to participate, discuss or just watch. Know what you like, enjoy yourself and help others enjoy it too.
You are limited by your natural swing speed under control. Avoid investing in technology beyond your capability. Reward improvement with new and better equipment as you progress. Be a smart consumer.
Golf is an exercise defined by calculus. You can’t learn calculus without first knowing where point A is. Point A is the defined anatomical swing center which is functional. Point B is where the trapezius muscle attaches to the shoulder blade (scapula). The relationship defines the potential for acceleration. The Anatomical Swing Method builds on this relationship and allows you to navigate through the method.
